Fiber 2021 Build Map
The RURALBAND 2021 Fiber Build Map below provides a detailed view of the Prince George Electric Cooperative service territory and a county-by-county breakout of where RURALBAND fiber is currently available, and areas where it will be available in 2021. We continue to build throughout the PGEC service territory with the goal of ultimately reaching 100% of our members as well as several adjacent communities.
What do the "zones" on this map mean?
RURALBAND's fiber build primarily follows our PGEC electric footprint. As a result, the network build project is divided into zones that correspond to that footprint. Each zone represents a specific area for the build. Your neighborhood's zone identifies that status of the build and thus fiber availability for you.
What if I'm not in one of the zones? When will you be in my area?
Throughout 2021, we will continue to open zones as the network expands. If you are not currently in an open zone, we encourage you to continue following our progress on Facebook and visit ruralband.coop to check our build status. Crews are working continually, and we are committed to moving as quickly as possible to build our to all members and those in certain adjacent communities.
Can I sign up even if I'm not in an open zone?
Not quite yet. Since our zones follow the electric path in most areas - which is not always in a continuous line - there may be instances where those with some houses or businesses can sign up but others nearby can't. We know it can be frustrating to be close to an open zone, but we ask for patience as we continue to build out. Please follow us on Facebook and get the latest build status at ruralband.coop. We are committed to reaching 100% of our members as well as certain adjacent communities.
